From the road that passes by at its feet, Priego de Córdoba rises up over spectacular cliffs, clinging on in a company knot of houses as if scraping on the doors or infinity.
Once in the centre of the town, however, its easy to get lost in the flower filled narrow streets that speak of a long history. You can relax by crystalline fountains that spring from the mountain over which Priego is built.
The old town of Priego de Córdoba is a marvellous example of traditional architecture that respects the old ways and which doesn't allow radical change. Narrow streets are adorned with a myriad of flowers that emit a cloud of perfume in spring and summer and which cover the facades of neary all the houses. It's a place that deserves to be visited when one has lots of time and when one is ready to be immersed in the culture of the land.
