Since prehistoric times there are indications that La Parra was a settled encampment. The most striking example of this are the dolmens that are found outside the town around the hermitage of San Pedro as well as other localities in the district.
Much later on, and because of the location of the river that is today called “Entrin”, some families established themselves in the area known as San Juan varios who cultivated the fields around the hermitage. It's possible, according to some archeologists and historians, thta the hermitage was orginally a temple built by one of the roman cult religions.
