La Luisiana is famous for its almost intact roman baths which are currently being restored to their original glory. This is being carried out by the workshop schoool “Baños Romanos”. Next door to the boths a health resort is being built to take advantage of the helath giving local waters. It is hoped that both will be completed in 2009.

La Luisiana is included on the Roman Iberian Route.

Through archaeological discoveries, it is well uderstood that this area was important during both visigoth and roman times. The close proximity of the colony Augusta Firma Astigi in Écija and to Obúlcula near La Monclova, a significant quantity of coins and remains found here (most of which are now in the archaeological museum of Seville) together with the excellently preserved roman baths, which until the beginning of the XX century were used as a public utility, confirm the value placed on the area during the roman occupation.
