Close to the Hotel Lloret is an old village of fishermen. Its origin dates from the 2nd and 3rd century BC. Cristina and St. Quirze Churches, and St. Joan’s Castle (10-11th century AD), situated on the hill which separates Fanal’s beach from Lloret, and used to be a defence against the Pirates.
Other attractive monuments are Plaja’s Castle, now an emblematic part of the landscape and also Santa Clodilde del Mar Gardens (26.000 m2), built in an amphitheatre viewing the sea (19th century).
